  • "My wife and I, along with our daughter and her family, went to Chimney Rock and the Lake Lure, NC area on June 3, 2019 and ate lunch at the Old Rock Cafe. We sat outside with an incredible view of Chimney Rock and the creek that ran just below the deck where we had lunch. Once seated and we reviewed the menu, we went inside and placed our order. Once done, we were given a number to place on our table and the food was promptly delivered to us. The meals were ample in size and well prepared. Pricing was reasonable, especially for a tourist area. The next time we are there, we will make it a point to eat there again."

  • "Today was our 2nd visit to Old Rock Cafe during our 2nd day trip from Charlotte to Chimney Rock. Food is great, staff is very friendly and the restaurant patio is extremely dog-friendly. They even brought out dog biscuits for our Golden Doodle. Today they also had both Hershey and Reese’s peanut butter cookies, the first of which my 12-year old daughter said “CHANGED HER LIFE” (so YUM). Thanks for being a bright spot on our visits. We’ll definitely be back."

  • "Our family of 6 needed a quick lunch after visiting Chimney Rock State Park. Old Rock Cafe was close by and the service was fast. The food was also good. After eating we walked down the the river for some more sight seeing afterwards."

  • "We were looking for a place to sit on the riverside and have a meal. I ordered the brat and I'm telling you, it was probably the freshest, best tasting brat I've had in years. My friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich and of course I took a nibble. It was delicious. They make their own kettle chips and WOW! Delicious! We were delighted and very full when we left! Great place to go!"

  • "After spending a couple hours on top of Chimney Rock, hiking back to the waterfall, I was ready for something good to eat. I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor, looking for recommendations on a good place. I decided to give Old Rock Cafe a try. Oh, I’m so glad I did. I’m 66 years young and have eaten my share of Burgers over the years. I will not say this is the best Burger I’ve ever eaten, but at the same time, I can’t say I’ve ever eaten one any better. I ordered the Carolina Burger, chili, slaw, and onions, Perfect in every way. Fries were delicious, staff was very friendly. Stopping at this place made my trip to Chimney Rock complete. Half way through our meal, I ask my wife (who is a very picky eater) how her burger was. She smiled, and said one word, delicious. I was so glad to hear that, knowing from now on when we visit Chimney Rock, we’ll be eating at Old Rock Cafe."

  • "Stopped after climbing chimney rock. Place had a line out the door which moved quickly. I now understand why the line. The burgers were amazing! Menu also had fish and chip, hot dogs, and other items. Local brews as well as a few others in bottles. Take your food and sit outside or sit outside and wait for them to deliver to your table. Outside seating is along the river path. Dogs welcome too!"

  • "This is my favorite place to eat in Chimney Rock. We are frequent vistors to Chimney Rock and stop in and eat here every time. They have great food and you can sit outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Broad River. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the restaurant is clean. I love their potato salad and get it every time. I highly recommend this place to everyone."

  • "Upon the recommendation of a ranger we decided to try this out. So glad we did! As a vegan I was extremely pleased with the delicious veggie burger. We ate outside on the patio and really enjoyed the sight and sound of the rushing river. Be sure to walk down to the river bank too! Highly recommend!"
